The world of Disney is a magical place for families, but navigating it with a baby requires a bit of extra planning and consideration.

My latest trip to Disney World marked approx. 30 visits for me, but this one was by far the most magical because my own little baby was with me this time! Thats right, we took our son to Disney World at 10 months, and I am here to share with you just how we did it! As much as I consider myself a "seasoned pro" at Disney World with my expertise ranging in finding the most exotic and exquisite drinks around the worlds and how to find the best dinner reservations, I had no clue what I was walking into with the little fella. Hopefully this gives you both the courage and support you need to take your little one with you, because my gosh I literally cried at how much he loved it!

Okay, let's "unpack" the most magical Disney trip of them all. . .

In my last post, I talked about what baby gear items we were taking with us to Disney World, so now that the trip is over, I want to share what I would take again, what I would leave behind, and what I wish we would have had!

Heading #1: What I Would Take Again

Without a doubt there are a few key items I just do not see myself ever not taking when it comes to Disney World with a baby, first being a pack mule . . . which for me was my husband :)

Okay, on a more serious note, the keepers are:

  1. Doona + Doona Bag/Cover (The bag pictured above that Parker is wearing on his front side; this was used in Ubers to and from the resort)

  2. GB Pockit All City Stroller + Carry Bag (This was used in the parks daily and was able to be stored and worn as a backpack while on the park busses as you have to stow away your strollers for the rides to and from the parks)

  3. Ergobaby Omni 360 All-Position Baby Carrier (This depends on your baby's size and ability, but Rory did well in this and made bus rides, park entry, and wake windows a breeze!)

  4. Apple AirTag + Hook/Case (We attached an air tag to our GB Pockit Stroller that we used in the parks each day as the workers sometimes have to move strollers around due to park traffic)

  5. Adjustable Baby Stroller Organizer (Which held our snack box, ice packs, and formula bag. I even made a cute custom last name sign to stick in the transparent top)

  6. Stroller Cup Holder

  7. Stroller Fan

  8. Water Bottle with straw (we used this for Rory instead of a small sippy cup that would have needed to be refilled)

  9. Stroller Hooks (to attach water bottle for easy access)

  10. Packing Cube (this went below the stroller in the basket and had an extra outfit, diapers, changing pad and wipes which was really easy to just grab and go into the bathroom for diaper changes)

  11. Silicone Formula Bag (way more accessible than carrying around a can of formula or multiple little containers; we just threw the scoop in the bag with the formula to portion bottles out properly)

  12. Compression bags (that push air out by rolling them; no actual vacuum is needed; this helped us pack so much easier in our suitcase)

  13. Power Bank

  14. Rubber/Silicone/Metal Straws (Disney World only has paper, and those disintegrate quickly, so we brought out our own planet-friendly ones)

  15. Belt Bag (We didn't use a diaper bag in Disney World, so this was an easy way to store the necessities. Slso, I was able to leave it on my body for most rides, which meant I didn't mind leaving the stroller behind in the parking areas for rides)

  16. Extra clothes for baby :) (reference the strawberry picture somewhere below)

Heading #2: What I Would Leave Behind

There were some items that, although I love them for my everyday use, did not need to make the trip to Disney with us.

  1. Doona Stroller Caddy (this is a daily staple item for me when going out with Rory, but since we only used the Doona for the Ubers, I could have left this behind)

  2. Doona BackPack Storage (this is something I would usually use when flying, but since my husband was with me, and he carried a backpack, I did not need to take this with us this time)

  3. My Cannon DSLR Camera (there was just no room left in the stroller to carry this around, and it was a hassle to have around my neck; the iPhone did fine for this trip)

  4. The Baby Shusher (there was enough background noise that stroller naps were just fine without this)

Again, these are great everyday items, but we could have left them behind to avoid taking up luggage space!

Heading #3: What I Wish We Would Have Had

If I could go back and bring anything else with me, I would say:

  1. More bottled waters for formula

  2. A second extra outfit for Rory (he literally had a blowout one day right when we walked in the park and needed an outfit change)

  3. Snacks for Rory (you can bring in food and drink to the parks, so I wish I would have brought a little more for him throughout the day)

  4. A light blanket for Rory (we went in December and the evenings and night time got chilly)

The biggest thing you need is patience. We had the time of our lives watching Rory experience Disney World for the first time, and I highly suggest bringing your little one around this age a million times over. We went by his pace and let him rest when needed. We did not force him to stay awake or try to cram everything on this trip. That made the rides and shows he did get to see even more meaningful.
